Alison King, Chief Executive of Turtle Key, producer of Ockham’s Razor and chair of the Independent Theatre Council explains the importance of curiosity.
Q. How would you describe the work of Ockham’s Razor?
A. Ockham’s Razor make original and inventive work, blending circus and theatre together to make work that is both arresting, emotive and accessible to a wide audience. They were at the forefront of the contemporary circus scene and have seen significant changes to how this kind of work is received. The work is entertaining as well as visually stunning and makes it very appealing for a wider audience.
Q. Tell us about the importance of collaborations between theatre venues and artists?
A. Partnerships are key, the creative sector thrives working collaboratively with venues and artists. This show that you will see, has been co-commissioned by the New Theatre Royal, The London International Mime Festival and The Lowry Salford. The support venues can offer artists is key, they can offer a home and space to make inventive work, opening their doors, this work can reach their community and bring the space alive.
