To celebrate the arrival of the hit West-End production, The Woman In Black, we’re hosting a number of guided ghost walks this March.
The gripping and terrifying plot of The Woman In Black will set the atmosphere for the rest of the evening as theatregoers stay behind for an experience like no other as Professor Frederick regales the tales of the theatre’s past inhabitants.
The haunted theatre tours will be led by the charming Victorian Ghost Expert Professor Frederick, following The Woman in Black performances at 10.30pm on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 March 2017.
The Professor will take the audiences on a 40-minute tour through the corridors and hallways of the theatre, in the hopes of encountering some of its spectral residents from the past 160 years.
According to legend, the ghost of Henry Rutley, who opened New Theatre Royal in 1856, is said to wander the corridors of the Victorian theatre. Another reported phantom resident is former theatre manager, Herbert Ralph, who managed New Theatre Royal from 1917 until 1923 when he committed suicide.
Susan Hill’s acclaimed ghost story is brought to life in an ingenious stage adaptation that has terrified over 7 million theatregoers since it first opened.
