October and November are a hive of activity at New Theatre Royal. We have lots of fantastic free events and workshops as part of of our EVOLVE series.
Our free arts workshops kick off with StopGap Dance Company on Wednesday 26th October, who will be hosting an inclusive workshop at Mary Rose Academy for 11+ young people of all abilities. This fantastic event is designed to initiate integration between dancers with and without disabilities, providing a unique an supportive environment for all.
Followed by a multi-sensory storytelling workshop with Louise Jordan on Saturday 5th November. This inclusive workshop is perfect for all the family, combining music and drama to encourage creativity and communication.

During October half term the Portsmouth Cultural Trust will be hosting a Roald Dahl extravaganza at Mary Rose Academy. This action packed day will be bringing to life one of Dahl’s best loved children’s books, The BFG, with songs, crafts and a touch of Frobscottle on 24th October. Then, on Tuesday 25th October the dastardly Twits will be taking the spotlight. Open to children between the ages of 7-11, participants will be making props, writing songs and helping to tell the story of Mr and Mrs Twit in a fun, interactive way.
