We are delighted to welcome internationally-acclaimed Canadian vocalist, Melanie Gall to our theatre next week for a series of extraordinary shows and workshops.
Melanie will be opening with back-to-back performances of her fantastic children’s show Opera Mouse and Opera Uncovered workshop on Wednesday 8th June. A blend of puppets, audience participation and actual opera singing, Opera Mouse is the perfect introduction to the operatic art form. It has been touring the world since 2013, with sold-out houses and delighted audiences.
On Thursday 9th June at 7.30pm, Melanie will be performing the lost knitting songs of WWI and WWII from Canada, Britain, America and France with Stitch in Time. From the national outbreak of ‘knitting nerves’ to Lord Kitchener’s knitting invention, this concert tells the story of a very unique and quirky slice of history.
Previously performed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, this wonderful knitting cabaret encourages audiences to bring along their knitting and stitch along to these needle-clicking tunes. Knitting beginners can also join in the fun with Melanie’s Knitting Workshop at 4.30pm prior to Stitch in Time.
Melanie has performed in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, all over Europe as well as a number of famous theatres including the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City.
